Scope

Hills Building Consultants was engaged to advise on the feasibility of solar power and battery storage on a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Maylands. 

Result

Our assessment found that two 3KW arrays, one facing north east and another facing north west, would provide enough electricity to power the house during the day and charge a battery large enough for night time use.

The system recommended was the locally produced HESS by Magellan Power, it combines all the necessary equipment in to one unit supplied and installed by the manufacturer. Since this system was installed it has provided approximately 95% of the households power needs and the battery has run flat at night only twice.

The system also exports a sizeable amount of power and it is expected that the owners will on average be paid $300 per year instead of getting bills.
